Actor Registration: 24 Hour Theatre

24 HOUR THEATRE ILLAWARRA 2017

ACTOR REGISTRATION

To register your interested to be one of our actors for 24 Hour Theatre Illawarra 2017, please complete the following form.

If you are selected, you will need to be available for the briefing 7pm on Friday 1st September where you will find out which team of actors you will be performing with, and which writer you will be working with.

The next morning, you and your fellow cast members will start to rehearse your play. You will have just one day to learn your lines, block your short play then you will perform in front of a live audience at 7:30pm.

Some teams may also be appointed a director, if no director is assigned, a team leader will be allocated by the producer who will act as director (decision maker). The team leader will liaise with the producer and have final word on any creative decisions made by the team.

Some plays may be chosen to be adapted to be performed in other theatre festivals, most notably Short+Sweet Sydney and Short+Sweet Illawarra 2018.

The main priority for actors and directors is to carry out the vision of the writer, however some minor script changes are allowed in order to ensure the play is learned and blocked in time for the scripts-down performance. Any notable changes to script or blocking must be cleared with the Producer who will liaise with the writer, or will make an on-the-spot decision.

There is no submission fee for actors, and your involvement will be on a voluntary basis.
